Finance Assistant

My client is seeking a diligent Finance Assistant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of financial tasks, including bank reconciliations, invoice generation, and data processing. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Perform daily bank reconciliations for all accounts and produce monthly reports for management information and bank file reporting.
- Print monthly bank statements for bank and management information files.
- Generate weekly reports of projects closed but not invoiced, close projects, and generate invoices.
- Update the engineering invoice schedule with new items and review it at the end of each week, emailing a snapshot of outstanding items to planning and engineering heads of departments.
- Manage engineering invoicing emails and respond to unanswered queries.
- Update deferred income contract schedules and internal maintenance schedules, ensuring they are reconciled to the accounting software nominal ledger.
- Conduct monthly reviews of core and warranty status and perform monthly contractual sales invoicing.
- Handle ad hoc sales invoicing for contracts, fuel, etc., and process payments in the absence of senior accounts.
- Authorise payments and import data from Heliplan to finance software daily.
- Process payroll data for all companies from the collated schedules and information.
- Provide support for purchase and engineering invoice processes.
- Manage communication as required for cover purposes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience using SAGE Line 50.
- Relevant experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive and proactive attitude towards work.
