Bury are seeking a Project Officer to join their Strategy & Improvement team within the Children & Young People (CYP) Department. This role is pivotal in supporting senior leaders in driving forward transformation plans across children's social care, SEND, and education.

In this role, you will manage smaller projects, support improvement tasks, and contribute to the continual enhancement of our services. A broad understanding of Children's Services (Schools, Social Care, and Early Help) would be beneficial.

Day to day of the role:

  • Running smaller projects, such as internal task and finish groups linked to improvement activity.
  • Supporting senior management in delivering key improvement tasks.
  • Undertaking ad hoc projects across the service, setting up processes, providing briefings, analysing information, and reviewing action plans.
  • Supporting the team with improvement events/activities and innovating new ways of working to transform and continually improve services.
  • Assisting with inspections and peer reviews, requiring the ability to work calmly at a fast pace.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and support multiple strands of work simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing or supporting improvement plans and activities.
  • Ability to draft briefings and presentations.
  • Flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to change.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A broad understanding of Children's Services (Schools, Social Care, and Early Help).
