Job Summary:
- Provide support to the classroom teacher by helping with lesson preparation, setting up equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
- Implement individual learning plans and provide feedback to the teacher on student progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervisor classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
- Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
- Manage student behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
- Liaise with other staff members in regard to work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
- Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
- Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
- Empathize with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have the ability to use your own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
