Our client is a leading manufacturer providing solutions to businesses across the UK and overseas. They're leaders in innovation, and design concepts through to completion all on one site.
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for 3 line leaders and have indirect responsibility for 50 operatives within your business unit. You will ensure that Health, Safety and Quality standards are adhered to whilst achieving key operational performance metrics for your area. You will take an innovative approve to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives whilst having full responsibility for production and resource planning for your area.
The ideal candidate must have production manager experience within a factory environment driving the development of line leaders whilst identifying improvements to production methods. Therefore, any experience implementing Lean, CI, Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar is a distinct advantage but not essential.
What's involved for the Production Manager...
- Continued development of Line Leaders
- Improve the quality of production staff through training and or recruitment
- Participate in daily operation meetings with the Factory Manager
- Drive performance within your area
- Deputise for Plant Manager as and when required
- Manage production lines accordingly to meet demand levels
- Use BI software to track order requirements
- Audit production areas for compliance
- Be a leader for Kaizen and facilitate continuous improvement meetings
- Reduce wastage
What you'll need...
- Factory management experience is a MUST
- Must have production or section manager experience
- Experience managing line leaders or team leaders
- Strong management / people development skills
- In depth knowledge manufacturing processes
- Ability to implement continuous improvement techniques
