In your new role as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining an established construction company in their Inverness office. Your new role

In your new role as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial expertise to the wider construction delivery team. You will measure work completed on site and prepare and process supplier subcontract payments, process interim applications for payments and provide monthly financial updates. By building and maintaining effective relationships with the team, clients, and subcontractors, you will minimise contractual disputes, achieve commercial targets and manage the cash flow and financials of your projects. Your role will also involve assisting in the procurement of materials, plant and labour in conjunction with the site management team. You will attend progress meetings and provide project updates to the commercial manager.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in this role, you will have prior experience of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a civil engineering or construction company or have solid experience at project quantity surveyor level and be ready to take a step into a more senior role. This role would require you to have strong negotiation skills to work with subcontractors and clients to reach positive commercial terms and minimise any commercial risks to the business. You must have good technical knowledge and skills in the construction sector and a good knowledge of commonly used contracts and frameworks. Ideally, you will hold a formal qualification in quantity surveying at degree level. However, candidates will be considered with HND/ HNC qualifications and relevant experience.
