Financial Data Researcher - Mortgages

Our client, a leading organization in finance and technology, is looking for a diligent and highly motivated individual to join their dynamic team. This is a 1-year temporary contract with an immediate start date and would suit a candidate with a strong analytical mind and demonstratable interest in financial markets.

This is a great opportunity for graduates to begin their career within a leading organisation in the technology and finance industry. The successful candidate will support the company's clients with their requests related to mortgage data via a ticketing system, instant messaging service, and phone calls. The role will focus on maintaining periodic factor and coupon data. The candidate will also assist in adding new mortgage bond data to the mortgage databases, using information from prospectuses and legal issuance documents.

Successful candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have a solid background in financial data. They should also have a strong interest in developing technical skills, given the technical nature of the tools used in the Mortgages group.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree.
  • Prior experience working with Financial data is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Experience with Python or other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of Mortgage bonds.
  • Prior experience / strong knowledge and understanding of the Financial Markets.
  • Fantastic customer service skills and ability to engage with finance professionals.
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal).
  • An interest in developing a technical aptitude is preferred
  • Practical experience in research and ability to derive information from public sources
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast pace changing environment
  • Self-motivated, task-oriented, and high degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Take ownership and be proactive with key areas of responsibilities
  • Strong attention to details
  • Motivation to grow and develop within the organisation and strong desire to progress
