Job Title: Business Information Services Assistant
Salary: Up to £30ph
Location: Belfast or possible London office
Hours: Temporary role 3-6months, Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm
- Responding to ad hoc research requests from lawyers and business services teams
- Supporting the Knowledge team in sourcing legal, business, and industry-specific information
- Conducting preliminary research to help assess new vendors or products
- Monitoring and renewing subscriptions to legal databases and research tools
- Keeping an inventory or database of current subscriptions and license expiry dates
- Managing user access to online resources
- Liaising with publishers and vendors to resolve access or technical issues
- Maintaining and updating internal knowledge systems (e.g. intranet, library catalogues, SharePoint)
- Supporting onboarding of new joiners with access to information resources
- Creating and maintaining user guides or quick reference materials for research tools
- Preparing usage statistics and cost tracking reports for subscriptions
The ideal candidate would have the following qualities:
- Good communicator who can deal confidently, tactfully and appropriately with people at all levels of the organisation;
- Being credible, persuasive, and communicating effectively
- Able to make recommendations as appropriate, including knowing when to escalate issues
- Solving problems creatively and proactively, adjusting to changes or unexpected situations
- Having a good attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in following procedures
- Able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
