Work for a Central Government organisation in Liverpool as an interim Press Officer/Media and Comms Officer (6 - 9 months, £28,000 - £35,000 pro rata, hybrid working).
Your key duties:
- Triage incoming queries and ensure media enquiries are prioritised and allocated according to the risks and opportunities they present.
- Manage the organisations news distribution and press cuttings services, maintaining lists and assisting with access issues, creating and circulating cuttings and managing records.
- Draft press releases and news stories to support the organisations outputs, including cases, consultations, research and corporate matters.
- Contribute ideas for proactive media stories, articles and interviews which help position the organisation as a proactive risk-based regulator and support the achievement of regulatory outcomes.
- Contribute to the maintenance of communications databases and systems, monitoring and evaluating media activity against agreed objectives and reporting regularly to senior managers on outcomes.
- Maintain the press office duty rota and take part in it as the press officer on call approximately one week out of five.
- Support the wider press team to build effective relationships and networks with the media to shape and drive more and better-quality media coverage for the organisation on priority issues.
- Work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure communications activity across different channels and audiences is coordinated.
- Web editor and publisher for the media relations hub on the organisation's website.
Working arrangements:
- Hybrid 2 - 3 days on site a week.
- 35 hours a week.
- Flexible working.
- Based in Liverpool (waiting to see if London could be an option too).
What we look for

- Press/ media relations experience.

- Salary: £28,624 - £35,086. per annum.
