Job Title: Mechanical Assemblers (semi-skilled)

Location: Derby

Salary: £22,764 per annum, plus overtime at time and a half

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Friday 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

We are seeking Mechanical Assemblers to join our dynamic team. This role involves working in both Engine Stand Assembly and Engine Stand Repair, providing essential support to our engineering and operations teams. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to take on a diverse set of responsibilities, both in the workshop and on-site. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engine Stand Assembly: Assemble engine transportation stands to specification, ensuring all spare parts are kitted and ready for dispatch.
  • ESR Duties: Inspect and repair engine stands and products, prepare them for dispatch, and manage stock control of MVP bags.
  • Workshop Tasks: Perform general workshop duties, maintain housekeeping standards, and safely operate forklifts, lifting equipment, and other mechanical tools.
  • Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections, quality checks, and product testing as required by specifications.
  • Customer Interaction: Regularly communicate with customers, providing ESR services on-site at their premises throughout the UK.
  • Supervision: You may be required to supervise new starters, trainees, and lower-skilled personnel, providing guidance, training, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an engineering role (advantageous)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (advantageous)
  • Consistant job history.
  • Willingness to learn or hold a current Fork Truck Licence (training available)
  • A valid UK driving license is essential.
  • Flexibility to travel and work regularly on customer sites across the UK

Additional Duties:

  • Adhere to all Health & Safety standards, including COSHH, Manual Handling, and safe operation of equipment.
  • Engage in training and development to maintain up-to-date knowledge and improve skills.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the team lead or supervisors.
