Our client is looking for a friendly Cook to join their team on a temporary basis whilst they recruit for the position permanently, producing fresh meals for patients and staff according to a daily menu at their Canterbury site.
- Producing nutritionally balanced meals for patients, staff and visitors according to a daily menu.
- Liaising with other professionals in respect of special diets, that might be required for individual patients.
- Ensuring the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times.
- Providing supervision and guidance to Catering Assistants.
- Deputising for the Head Chef as required.
The post holder must ensure that food preparation is completed to a high standard, in line with standards expected within a healthcare and catering environment.
**Working Arrangements
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) Working days will be between Monday and Sunday. The successful candidate will be required to work early and/or late shifts, between the hours of 6:30AM – 20:00PM. You will be provided with on-site parking, a uniform and subsidised meals during your work day.
**About You
To be successful in this role you should:
- Have experience of working in a professional kitchen or similar environment
- Possess Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and / or relevant catering qualifications
- Ability to work using own initiative and without supervision
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
