Senior Buyer - Key Accounts

Location: Nationwide
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Are you an expert in energy procurement looking for an opportunity to work with key accounts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We are seeking a skilled Senior Buyer to manage energy procurement activities, including gas, electricity, water, and metering contracts, for our clients across the UK.

Job Overview

As a Senior Buyer - Key Accounts, you will play a pivotal role in managing flexible and fixed price energy procurement for key clients. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for negotiating contracts, delivering cost-effective solutions, and maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships. Your expertise will guide customers through energy procurement strategies, acting as an extension of their energy and procurement teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing procurement activities for gas, electricity, water, and metering contracts.
  • Leading tender processes, negotiating product pricing, and securing the best value for customers.
  • Building strong relationships with key account clients and internal teams.
  • Producing written and numerical analysis of tender bid responses.
  • Monitoring industry regulations, market trends, and price changes to inform procurement decisions.

What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong expertise in energy procurement, with a focus on flexible contracts for gas and electricity.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to identify and manage contractual risks.
  • An analytical mind-set, with a keen attention to detail when reviewing complex data.
  • Experience creating clear, concise written reports and making balanced recommendations.
  • Outstanding time management skills and a self-driven work ethic.

Qualifications & Continuous Learning

  • A CIPS qualification (Level 4 or higher) is desired, though not essential.
  • If you don't hold a CIPS qualification, a minimum of two A-levels (or international equivalent) or relevant experience in a business environment is required.
  • We support continuous learning, so if you are working towards a CIPS qualification, we are happy to offer further guidance and support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on managing high-level procurement activities and building meaningful relationships with clients. If you're ready to take the next step in your procurement career, we would love to hear from you!
