Our client, a leading UK-based financial services group, is seeking a Risk Manager to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This position is based in either Bristol or Edinburgh, with hybrid working options. You will work standard office hours from Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours requirements. With a competitive day rate of £550 via an Umbrella Company, this is an exciting opportunity to work with a prestigious organisation.
As the Risk Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening the wider financial control environment and provide support on risk and control matters across various business processes, including Finance. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the delivery of the Group's SOX assurance testing programme.
Assessing allocated control testing assignments and sharing insights with the team.
Challenging existing approaches and recommending improvements, including the use of technology.
To excel in this role, you will need:
Practical experience in delivering SOX assurance testing, preferably in the financial services sector.
A qualification and experience in a related field (audit, risk management, accounting) or expertise gained through relevant experience.
A passion for understanding risk and control.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to analyse complex information.
Experience in using technology-enabled solutions to enhance control testing or knowledge of control environments related to IT business applications and infrastructure in financial services would be highly beneficial.
