Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an SME organisation on the Wirral, who are keen to appoint a proven Management Accountant to their growing team.

Due to a recent promotion, this is a pivot role bringing much needed financial support and guidance to the Finance Director and stakeholders.

The successful new appointment will join the team and take full ownership of producing management accounts with variance analysis. This is an autonomous and visible role giving you the responsibility to produce financial reports and cashflow for senior management that will support strategic decision making.

Applicants who are actively studying or are at finalist level, (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), or qualified by experience please read on and apply.

The ideal applicant will be a solid all-rounder with a keen eye for detail, who is familiar to working within an SME environment, were initiative, enthusiasm and adaptability are key character traits to getting the tasks done.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Providing quality financial support, advice and guidance to the Finance Director and various stakeholders
  • Produce monthly management accounts with commentary and cash flow forecast
  • Stakeholder management, business partnering with various non-finance budget holders and third parties including auditors and banks.
  • Assist with annual budgeting preparation
  • Assist with year end accounts and external audit, VAT returns
  • Become a 'champion' for finance, lead by example ensuring best practice and controls in place are robust and fit for purpose.

  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.

  • Looking to add value - seek areas to improve, reduce cost, improve margin.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to set deadlines.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
