Network Engineer

Posted by Cathcart Technology.

A Scottish multi-service organisation, based in Inverness, are currently on the lookout for an experienced Network Engineer to join their growing team, onsite.

They've been operating very successfully now for nearly 15 years and work across a variety of sectors including renewables and construction. They have a busy pipeline of current and upcoming projects so are now planning to expand several of their established squads so they can accommodate the new work - it's a really great time to join a busy and fast-paced environment.

They're ideally looking for someone with a strong background in a previous Network Engineer role, as you'll be expected to; install, configure and troubleshoot different network architectures. Additionally, you'll be tasked to help maintain and improve the current infrastructure already in place. This will rely on your ability to collaborate with different teams across the business, as well as work independently to drive projects across the line - so they're ideally looking for a motivated individual that is quite confident in their ability.

You'll ideally have experience with most of the following;

  • Network Management Platforms (Cisco, Juniper or Aruba)
  • Network Security and Appliances (Fortinet, Aruba Gateways, Sonicwall)
  • Network Infrastructure - Designing, Deploying, Implementing (LAN/WLAN)
  • Troubleshooting and Configuration of Wireless and Wired Network / Security Devices

Given the nature of their projects, and the expected growth of the organisation, this role would be really suited for an ambitious Network Engineer that is looking to get really involved (and sometimes lead projects), you'll have a great platform to improve your current skillset and work within a really modern technical environment.

Their offices are based in central Inverness, where the team work largely onsite but they do have some flexibility when needed. For this role, you'll be expected to occasionally visit other sites so a full UK Drivers license is essential for this role - they do have company cars you can use for these vists.

In return, they're able to offer a salary of between £34k to £46k, dependent on experience and ability, with some good benefits to match including; pension contribution and private medical insurance.
