Finance Analyst

I am currently helping one of my top law firm clients in their search for a Finance Analyst to join their growing Commercial team. They are looking for someone who is ambitious, eager to learn and who wants to push themselves in their career. This is a great opportunity for somebody who has some analytical experience or some finance experience and looking to move into an analytical role.

Some of your responsibilities will include -

  • Supporting the production of business performance assessments, determining the optimum business model for each practice group and office and defining actions to be taken to achieve that model.
  • Working closely with senior management to understand the key business drivers and present clearly the issues which need to be addressed.
  • Provide support as necessary to the Business Planning Director and Finance Leadership during central planning and budgeting exercises.
  • Question & challenge underlying assumptions to ensure the robustness and validity of the budget and forecasts.
  • The role will be responsible for sharing commercial analysis tools, techniques and approaches with other members of the wider F&A function to assist in their on-going technical and professional development.
  • Regular contact with senior executive management (Department COOs, and COO/CFO) and the wider partnership through the provision of analytical and planning support during routine and project specific work
  • Support the development of the business and promote financial awareness.

To be successful in this role you must -

  • Minimum 3-5 years financial analysis experience preferred Legal/professional services experience a plus
  • Analysis experience strongly desirable
  • Experience working in cross functional teams such as IT, HR, BD and LPM
  • Professional qualification is a plus (CIMA, MBA, etc.)
  • Ability to utilise Excel and MI systems to an advanced level.
  • In depth working knowledge of best practices to be followed when analysing high volumes of complex data, producing management information.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to demands of specific projects.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and schedule project related tasks alongside routine daily activities.
  • Must have good written, communication and presentational skills.
  • Must be organised, thorough and accurate, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and accuracy in work at all times.
