SEN Planning Review Officer

Location: Southwest

Pay rate:

£200 per day

We are looking for an experienced and passionate SEN Review Officer. In this role you will be efficient in dealing with SEN (Special Education Needs) issues that affect parents, children, young people and educational settings. You possess excellent organisational and communication skills and are proficient in IT. Ideally, you possess problem-solving abilities and are committed to multi-agency work. You are accustomed to preparing reports, managing caseloads, and supporting the development and implementation of multi-agency processes. Experience of working with a diverse range of education, social care and healthcare professionals is desirable. You will understand the local authority's duties regarding SEN. As a dedicated professional, you are able to travel across the borough and are flexible to work during non-traditional hours; you're agile in your work approach.

You'll be committed to ensure positive and sustainable results of your interventions. Using best practice, you'll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly however, you'll have a passion for supporting children and their families to ensure that they thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to be as efficient as possible.

Perfect candidate will be:

  • Educated, professional and possess a deep understanding of part 3 Children & Families Act 2014 and its supporting code of practice
  • Experienced in working with children and families including those from vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible and forward thinking in approach.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN and their families
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them
  • Committed to providing our service users with a high-quality service
  • Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
  • 4 Years plus Qualified

In this role you will:

  • Use skills, knowledge, and experience to make full assessment of risks protection and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed case load.
  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimum outcomes for service users.
  • Devise individual care plans, taking account of diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
  • Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to assist development.
