Full time, Temporary (Maternity Cover - up to 15 months)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermodal KAM Coordinator to join our busy Intermodal team. The successful applicant will ensure that MSC Key Accounts receive the Intermodal service levels promoted, be the Intermodal point of contact for the customer and across the business as well as taking ownership & responsibility for the Intermodal Key Account product.

Skills and experience you'll bring to us

  • Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programmes
  • A flexible approach, with a 'can do' and 'result driven' attitude is essential
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and work to tight deadlines
  • Good analytical skills, knowledge of Data warehouse & Power BI reporting
  • Previous Transport Planning experience advantageous
  • Previous customer interactive experience, managing customer expectations, promoting direct relationships and ownership with clients
  • Ability to develop and present robust procedures to improve service levels and regain customer confidence

How you will help us and what you can expect

  • Responsible for Intermodal Key Account Management; direct point of contact for any Intermodal issues relating to the customer both internally & externally
  • Ownership of producing Intermodal service level data for all KAM clients and investigating the detail where necessary to share with the Key Account Manager and customer
  • Pro-actively working with the planning desk & operators to ensure customers' requirements are met and where necessary solutions found to resolve issues
  • Promote the Intermodal proposition, support the UK Sales & Commercial teams to bring onboard line haulage with new & existing customers
  • Work with Sales, Commercial & Customer service to investigate and drill down to establish service levels and the surrounding issues. Supply the detailed information to facilitate a good productive discussion with the customer to ultimately improve the service levels
  • Working in unison with CS, Planning desk & Commercial teams to ensure the required service is delivered
  • Communication and proactive management direct with customers plus investigation and feedback
  • Be on the front foot with customers telling them how we have performed rather than wait for a complaint to review
  • Provide support for the UK pricing policy
  • Intermodal/Commercial interaction to review new and existing business
  • Assist with Merchant Haulage recovery to having an understanding of business flows and what rates to quote aligned to our equipment flows and requirements. Provide cover as necessary
  • Provide support for the UK pricing policy having a sound knowledge of the Intermodal Product to offer competitive rates to secure line haul business, providing cover as necessary
