As a CNC Operative, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing jigs and production parts, ensuring they adhere to specifications and meet our client's high-quality standards. Reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, your duties will include:
- Manufacturing production components
- Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with company and regulatory standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying and resolving any non-conformance issues
- Performing manual/CNC machining, including turning, milling, and surface grinding
- Carrying out sub-assembly and bench fitting of precision tools
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Creating fixtures and work-holding devices as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship in a discipline such as "Toolmaking," "Machining," or "Fitter/Turner" OR relevant experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of CNC machining is an advantage
- ONC-HNC in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of five years' experience in an engineering environment
- Competence in using engineering machinery such as milling machines, lathes, drilling machines, CNC machines, and surface grinders
- Additional skills in CAD/CAM systems (e.g., Alphacam, Featurecam), inspection using CMM or Faro Arm, and computer literacy are advantageous
This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive annual salary of £36,750 per year. In addition to the regular benefits, you will have the opportunity to work a four-day week, giving you a great work-life balance.
To excel in this role, you should be self-motivated, conscientious, and have strong communication skills. The ability to work well within a team is also essential.
**Please note that this position requires the use of a car due to the location of our client's organisation. The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 4:**45 pm, allowing you to enjoy long weekends.
