Teaching Assistant (Specialist School)
Employment Type: Full-time (Permanent opportunities available, role will initially be pay rolled through Tradewind Recruitment)
Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are a specialist school in Sheffield seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our team, working with secondary-aged children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with ASD and learning difficulties in accessing the curriculum.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support as required.
- Help implement individual learning plans for students.
- Offer emotional and behavioural support to encourage students' progress.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure each student's needs are met.
About You:
- Patient, kind, and approachable with a genuine passion for working with young people.
- Able to build trusting relationships with students who have varied needs.
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not essential.
- No formal TA qualification required, as we value enthusiasm and the right attitude.
