We're on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Contract Manager to take the reins on our supplier contract for specialist fleet and driver services within the LPG industry. In this brand-new position, created to enhance our operations, you'll play a key part in ensuring that our customers are always taken care of by managing the smooth and timely supply of gas from our primary collection points to our filling plants and break-bulk locations. You'll be the driving force behind our third-party supplier's performance, holding them to our high standards of safety, efficiency, and top-notch service.

You should ideally be based in the West Midlands, as you will attend meetings at our head office in Tachbrook Park, Warwick, for collaboration. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to visit our Calor sites, allowing you to integrate seamlessly into your role and connect with our fantastic on-site teams.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of managing and optimizing our logistics operations. You'll oversee the performance of our external partner, ensuring they meet key performance indicators and deliver on our commercial objectives. Additionally, you'll be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers, negotiating contract terms, and implementing improvements that drive operational excellence. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative environment where safety, efficiency, and service quality are always prioritized.

Your responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the supplier contract for specialist fleet and driver services, ensuring compliance with contract terms, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Monitor service levels and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimization to drive operational efficiency.
  • Prioritize safety by implementing and enforcing protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers, acting as the main point of contact and addressing issues proactively.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing agreements to maximize value and align with Calor's business objectives.
  • Define, track, and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet and driver services, such as Vehicle Off Road (VOR), right-first-time metrics, on-time delivery, and driver performance.
  • Report on KPI performance to stakeholders and senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and procurement, to ensure alignment and seamless coordination of activities.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on supplier performance, contract status, and addressing any concerns.

The Essentials

  • Proven track record in developing and implementing logistics strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Strong experience in leading the development, tracking, and analysis of KPIs to measure and drive logistics performance.
  • Proficiency in leveraging data analytics to monitor logistics performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and interact effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Organized and effective time management, with a problem-solving attitude and a determination to succeed.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the ERP system SAP, though not essential, is beneficial. We believe that systems are teachable, so a willingness to learn is just as valuable.
