Job Title: Lead Strategic Development Underwriter
Salary: £70,000
Location: Fully remote
Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen with my client, an emerging, data-led insurance provider aiming to be the #1 supplier of varied insurance products to the UK property legal and lender markets. With an already market leading suite of products, we are seeking an experienced sector Underwriter who wants to take the next step and work alongside a creative product development team to increase business reach in data backed lender and deal enabler products.
Duties include:
- Continuously liaise with the Underwriting Director and the Strategic Development Director and work to ensure efficient processes are in place to ensure best practice underwriting in all areas of the business
- Perform all activities in line with the business Vision, Mission and Strategy and assist in driving growth in new business
- Plan and implement strategic development of products, underwriting trends, and processes to better our product offering, our service standards and increase GWP
- Act as the technical expert and oversee the underwriting business conducted by the team
- Lead in all underwriting and associated business development activities to ensure company insurance targets and objectives are met
- Provide ideas and suggestions around the development of products, underwriting trends, and processes to better our product offering, our service standards and to grow the business, then implement/deliver on agreed outcomes
- To drive the implementation of internal audit control functions, ensuring best practice risk and compliance activities are undertaken across the business
- To keep up to date with changes in law and implement internal updates where necessary inclusive of developing new products to meet the demand and needs of our clients.
- Oversee the underwriting business conducted by the team
The successful candidate will have/be:
- Strong experience in financial sector products, ideally having worked with lenders and real-estate developers and service providers, or within trade credit, banking and institutional lending environments
- Confident at delivering and producing new material such as Underwriting guides/manuals and other supporting documentation
- Extensive experience meeting with clients and brokers face to face, providing written underwriting decisions and being able to articulate decisions and new products to board level
Package:
- Circa £70,000
