I am lucky enough to be working with a leading Nautical engineering business based in Dubai who are making huge strides in navigation devices and unmanned marine vehicles. Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Perception Engineer on a permanent basis.
To be considered you need to satisfy the spec below, be able to relocate to Dubai and also be a English speaking.
Perception Engineer Specification:
- Develop, implement, and optimize perception algorithms for object detection, tracking, and classification in real-time environments.
- Process sensor data (LiDAR, cameras, RADAR) to extract meaningful features for perception tasks.
- Design and develop software for sensor fusion to enhance perception accuracy and reliability.
- Implement and test machine learning or deep learning models for perception-related tasks, ensuring efficient real-time performance.
- Work with point cloud data to identify, cluster, and track objects for consistent ID assignment and speed/position tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perception systems into larger robotics or autonomous driving stacks.
- Conduct system-level testing and validation to ensure robust perception in various environmental conditions.
- Optimize algorithms for computational efficiency and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in perception systems development.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python and C++.
- Experience with perception libraries such as PCL, OpenCV, or similar.
- Strong understanding of LiDAR, RADAR, and camera data processing.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for perception tasks.
- Experience with sensor fusion techniques and real-time systems.
- Knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) and working with autonomous systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with embedded systems and real-time processing is a plus.
