IS Support Specialist, 2nd / 3rd Line Support - Manufacturing.
An exciting and challenging role providing 2nd / 3rd Line Support / Systems Administration for 2 sites in the UK in a mixed Windows / Linux environment with preferred candidates having strong virtualisation and networking skills.
Not essential but preferred candidates will come from a financial / banking (manufacturing) support background.
Candidates are required to have a range and depth of technical knowledge along with an unrivalled troubleshooting ability as you'll take ownership of incidents from start to finish and be covering a number of different areas from front to back end as opposed to passing it on and escalating to other teams.
Required Skills:
- Troubleshooting ability 2nd to none - someone who enjoys the technical challenge and finding resolutions to complex problems.
- Experience providing Application Support including installation / configuration, upgrading and troubleshooting both in person and remotely (via phone, e-mail, IM).
- Strong knowledge of virtualisation - VMWare.
- SQL, being confident troubleshooting SQL performance issues - SQL Server.
- Strong background in Windows and ideally some Linux/Unix OS's including supporting numerous Applications on mixed Windows / Linux Server platforms.
- Some Linux / Unix Systems Administration (Redhat, Centos) highly desirable.
- Advanced Networking / Infrastructure Troubleshooting and Diagnostics - DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls
- Good understanding / operational experience of ITIL methodology with any certifications beneficial.
- Ability work well under pressure in an exciting technological environment.
Non-Essential But Highly Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience supporting air gapped networks.
- Understanding of automation tools such as infrastructure as code (ansible).
- Linux / Unix System Administration - RedHat + Ubuntu.
- Knowledge of PCI CPP standards.
- Experience in Deployment tools such as MDT and WDS
Professional experience: 5 years.
