Occupational Hygienist / Environmental Consultant

ProAktive Risk Management (part of The Clear Group and soon to be Clear Risk Management) is an innovative business looking for an Occupational Hygienist / Environmental Consultant to join our growing Environmental Team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced consultants to develop a career in this field.

You will work with the environmental team in all aspects of our work, both on-site and in the office and develop skills and experience in a number of areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, monitoring, and analysing workplace conditions related to noise levels and air quality.

The role will be a mix of office based and on site with our clients and therefore involves travel around the UK and occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise appropriate equipment and techniques to perform noise measurements, air sampling, and analysis of results.
  • Analyse collected data, interpret findings, and provide accurate reports to clients, highlighting potential areas of concern and recommending appropriate control measures.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for noise control and air quality improvement in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, offering expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, measurements, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about current industry trends, regulations, and advancements in occupational hygiene practices, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Assist in other related projects and assessments as required, such as vibration assessments, fire risk assessments, and legionella management assessments.

Key Requirements:

  • It would be advantageous but is not essential to hold appropriate BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) training related to occupational hygiene, noise, and air sampling.
  • Possess a full and valid driving license.
  • Have relevant experience in occupational hygiene, specialising in noise and air sampling.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in conducting noise measurements and air sampling techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data accurately and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with vibration assessments, fire risk assessments, and legionella management assessments would be useful but not essential.
