Metalis Recruitment are currently working with a prestigious manufacturing company who due to expansion are looking for a Production Manager to join the team.

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that operations are running as smoothly and effectively as possible.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met
  • Coordinating with a variety of different departments within the business including the sales and design teams to forecast production needs and adjust schedules accordingly
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a production team leading to performance targets being hit
  • Utilising lean manufacturing principles in order to streamline all operations and improve production flow
  • Promoting a safe working environment and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management
  • Working closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Negotiating terms with potential suppliers
  • Tracking production costs and reporting back ensuring budgets are being stuck to

Shifts & Salary:

  • £40,000 per annum
  • Monday - Friday
  • Permanent, Full time

The Ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the tooling or manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of carbide, HSS, brazed carbide, PCD, and indexable insert tooling production processes.
  • Proven experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using production management software and tools
