Sustainability and Carbon Manager

  • Location: London or Nottingham (with travel to other offices as required)
  • Salary: £58,000 - £66,113 per annum
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days work from home

We are looking for an Energy & Carbon Performance Manager to play a pivotal role in the development of our Decarbonisation Strategy. This specialist management role involves providing a proactive energy data management function and ensuring the energy efficiency modelling system is integrated, streamlined, and fit for purpose.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Support the development and implementation of the Decarbonisation Strategy through proactive energy data management.
  • Oversee the energy efficiency modelling system, ensuring it is effective and produces high-quality data to support strategic priorities.
  • Lead accountability for the accuracy of information in the energy efficiency system, establishing robust monitoring and data management processes.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate specialist energy systems and data within the BIM strategy.
  • Build a robust understanding of housing stock performance to inform investment modelling and strategic decarbonisation decisions.
  • Foster a performance-oriented culture, setting and monitoring targets, and implementing actions based on systematic reviews.
  • Produce strategic performance reports on energy efficiency and decarbonisation, making strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare bids for funding opportunities, contributing to business development.
  • Lead on monitoring and data analysis during decarbonisation programme delivery.
  • Ensure accurate updating of databases with information from programmes of work.
  • Report on the benefit realisation of decarbonisation works and make recommendations based on analysis.
  • Evaluate the impact of decarbonisation works on tenant satisfaction and community well-being.
  • Coordinate with investment teams to harmonise retrofit projects with other programmes.
  • Maintain effective communication with relevant departments and stay updated on legislation and best practices.
  • Research and implement innovative service delivery methods for high quality and value.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of asset systems, asset data management, and integrity.
  • Familiarity with EPC, SAP, and energy efficiency modelling systems.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and convey complex technical information.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, modelling, and visualisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work independently.
  • Experience in managing and motivating staff to achieve performance targets is desirable.
