SEN Teacher

Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:
- Plan and teach lessons, work with small groups and individual students.
- Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports.
- Help students develop confidence, independence and encourage them to learn.
- Manage behaviour, mark work and talk to parents and carers about their children's progress.
- Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.
Requirements of an SEN Teacher:
- You must be a qualified teacher with PGCE, QTS or recognised equivalent.
- Knowledge of teaching techniques for students with special needs.
- Flexibility, openness to new ideas and ability to identify students' weaknesses and strengths.
- Ability to create a conducive and positive learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and leaderships qualities to engage students, parents and other professionals in the educational system.
