Operations Manager

RELOcruitment are delighted to be working alongside an award-winning Removals & Storage Firm. They provide professional removals and storage solutions all over the globe.

They are now looking for an Operations Manager to join their busy team based in Kent.

The main purpose of the role is to lead and manage the branch operational team, including service partners and warehouse staff, to achieve revenue, margin, and contribution targets. This will be accomplished through the efficient planning, monitoring, and management of daily operations.

Additionally, you will be responsible for controlling and managing the warehouse facility, ensuring the accuracy of recording warehouse movements and reporting. Achieving targeted utilisation (80%) and contribution while delivering consistent, superior service in line with company quality standards is also a key aspect of the role.

The role will also be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety regulations and Transport Legislation.

REMOVALS EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE BUT CANDIDATES FROM ALL TRANSPORT BACKGROUNDS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, monitoring and management of the daily operation
  • Accurate cost reporting on Navision e.g. wages, PO's etc
  • Complete pre move call 48 hours prior to each move via ops controllers
  • Proactively manage people, vehicles and materials required to meet the number of moves planned, including staff levels and holidays
  • Investigation of claims and complaints
  • To conduct formal and informal reviews of branch team members, service partners and owner drivers in terms of performance and appearance
  • Complete all required monthly returns
  • Monitor and maintain all transport legislative requirements
  • Compliance to branch health & safety requirements
  • Adherence to company ISO/BAR accreditations

KPI'S:

  • To achieve budgeted margin and contribution targets
  • Achieve product margins via PF10 report
  • No overdue vehicle services
  • Tachograph error rate < 8%
  • Minimum health & safety audit score of 90%
