Seeking an enthusiastic Science teacher!

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our Blackburn team, where you will encourage and mentor KS3 and KS4 students. This thrilling opportunity offers a daily pay rate ranging from £155 to £230, depending on your experience, qualifications, and teaching expertise.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of fostering a love for science and discovery among students. Your primary focus will be to stimulate curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and inspire students to explore scientific concepts through hands-on experiments and collaborative projects. You will work closely with colleagues to design a dynamic curriculum that promotes inquiry-based learning and real-world applications of science.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
