Interim Finance Business Partner - Local Authority

Reed Public Sector Hub is actively recruiting for a Finance Business Partner for a Local Authority in Berkshire

This role will be providing Finance Business Partner support within the Department of Economic Growth and Neighbourhood services, with a focus on budget areas including Planning, Transport, Public Protection, Waste Disposal, Departmental Management and Sustainability. The role will support budget managers in providing monthly budget forecasts of the Expenditure and Income position, feeding into the Council's Budget Monitoring reports. You will also be involved in the setting of Council budgets in the areas specified, including modelling Payroll Establishment changes, suggesting and actioning budget virements and loading budgets. The role will also have a general financial advice and support to budget holders on all aspects of the Finance function

We're looking for someone with:

  • CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience
  • Extensive experience of working within local government finance as a business partner (ideally with direct experience supporting Environment services - planning, transport. public protection or Waste Disposal/sustainability ideally.

Contract length: 3 months - 6 months

Pay Rate: £500 - £600 per day, inside IR35

Hybrid working - the successful candidate can expect to be in the office 1-2 days a month.
