A leading global organization in advanced engineering is seeking a skilled Technical Author to join their team at their Bristol site. This permanent position offers an exciting chance to contribute to the development of tools vital for many cutting-edge industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce, develop, and maintain clear and concise technical documentation for high-tech products.

Research and analyze complex technical information to create informative documents.

Collaborate with engineers and managers to resolve technical queries.

Create and provide necessary photographs or illustrations.

Work with subject-matter experts to generate documentation for project launches and customer support.

Test and update written materials with user feedback.

Maintain robust documentation systems, ensuring accuracy and version control.

Organize and publish technical information within required timelines.

Coordinate with external providers, such as printers and translators, to uphold product integrity.

Education/Qualifications:

Recognized technical authoring qualification (ISCT, NVQ, Diploma, etc.) or equivalent degree.

Proficiency in MadCap Flare and other desktop publishing applications.

Experience in the semiconductor, electro-mechanical, or scientific sector is highly desirable.

Demonstrable experience in a technical author role.

Professional Skills/Abilities:

Strong technical writing capabilities and comprehension of complex products.

Excellent proofreading and research skills.

Ability to adhere to documentation procedures and corporate style.

Understanding of manufacturing and design practices.

Experience in presenting information for training and maintenance.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Personal Qualities:

Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with engineers and technicians.

Clear written and spoken communication abilities.

Detail-oriented, systematic, and thorough.

A collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills.

Willingness to travel occasionally.
