Description
- Lead the Accounting & Finance department, providing strategic financial advice.
- Ensure financial sustainability and robust financial management within the organisation.
- Drive the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans.
- Oversee financial systems, ensuring they are fit for purpose and comply with legislative requirements.
- Report on financial performance to the Chief Financial Officer and other stakeholders.
- Support the Head of Finance in the role of Deputy 151 officer.
- Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the organisation.
- Maintain current knowledge of public sector finance, regulations and best practice.
Profile
A successful Interim Deputy Head of Finance + Deputy 151 officer should have:
- A professional accounting qualification, CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Experience in a senior finance role within the Local Authority sector.
- Excellent knowledge of Local Authority sector finance, regulations and best practice.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
Job Offer
- A negotiable day rate depending on experience (inside IR35)
- Immediate start covering whilst I recruit the Permanent Assistant Head of Finance. 3-5 months initially
