The primary role is to plan, manage and deliver R&D projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes managing resource, coordinating the efforts of team members, managing third-party contractors/consultants, and providing a single point of contact to the project Customer both internal and external. - Support and manage contract cost at completions, maximising margin ensuring cost base is minimised. Manage and control the cost base.
- Prepare and maintain contract risk and opportunity plans/budgets.
- Establish and implement effective project management processes, tools and reporting mechanisms on achievement of the programme and budgets.
- Directing and managing projects from beginning to delivery. Defining project scope, goals and deliverables. Managing Customers, Sub-Contractors, and Suppliers.
- Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team lifecycle.
Project Manager - Skills & Abilities - R&D, Design, Manufacturing, Engineering
- Experience of leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team, providing instruction and direction, across multiple projects at different stages of the engineering cycle.
- Excellence in the use of relevant IT including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Management experience, covering financial, commercial, engineering and project areas.
- Typically qualified with an engineering degree supported by on the job experience.
- Minimum of three years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of project development and execution.
