Project Engineer

A Staffordshire based food manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to join their team based at the production facility in Lichfield.

As Project Engineer you will initially be working on a project to relocate a large amount of production machinery from one of their other sites in the UK to the Lichfield site. This is a crucial project for them so experience of this type would be highly advantageous.

After this you will be working on other projects to improve the Lichfield site and potentially assist on other projects within the group as well.

Key responsibilities of Project Engineer:

  • Work in collaboration with the engineering and production teams to provide support and to ensure asset efficiency, availability and reliability is maximised
  • Drive continuous improvements of assets by identifying and delivering agreed improvement projects
  • Coordinate teams to solve problems and improve operational systems, processes and procedures
  • Lead and manage allocated Projects and Process Improvement plans
  • Apply project management techniques to control progress and ensure all targets are met
  • Produce accurate and comprehensive project documentation and ensure that progress is recorded, managed, and reported
  • Research and introduce new process equipment / systems as and when appropriate or requested
  • Possibility to be hands on occasionally on installation phases

Experience and skills required of Project Engineer:

  • Experienced and qualified Project / Maintenance Engineer with C&G's or NVQ Level 3 or ideally ONC / HNC level
  • Experience of managing similar projects in a food or FMCG environment
  • Ideally Apprenticeship trained
  • Project management qualifications would be desirable
  • Knowledge of Steam systems would also be very welcomed
