Theatre Manager who has previous experience working within a leisure / theatre / multi-purpose entertainment venue with transferable management skills is required for a Theatre within an organisation that offers high quality gyms, swimming pools, spa, sport and leisure activities, arts and entertainment.

SALARY: £34,515 per annum + Generous Benefits

LOCATION: Colne, Pendle, Lancashire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Theatre Manager who has previous experience working within a leisure / theatre / multi-purpose entertainment venue with transferable management skills

The Theatre is currently closed and undergoing major improvement works funded by the Government's Levelling Up Fund and is scheduled to reopen in August 2024.

The organisation is looking to have a Theatre Manager in place ready for when they reopen their doors to showcase the fabulous new look.

Working as Theatre Manager you will lead the Theatre with a creative vision that maintains and strengthens its strong identity and reputation.

As a successful candidate you will have a diverse role that oversees the smooth operational running of the theatre. You will undertake tasks that include effectively managing colleagues and ensuring a balanced programme is in place so the organisation can continue to be a leading destination for arts and culture.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing similar venues with passion and flair, and who is determined, self-motivated, leads by example, well organised and who is consistently looking for improvements.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Theatre Manager include:

  • Lead the operational day to day management of the Theatre
  • Carrying out Theatre Management duties during functions, including supervision of staff, dealing with operational problems as they arise and ensuring suitable action is taken to remedy the situation
  • Supervision and preparation of all areas of the building including the stage and technical areas
  • Communicating with Promoters and Hirers and colleagues to ensure the correct set up and layout of the theatre takes place at all times
  • Carry out day to day maintenance, ensuring a high standard of presentation
  • Ensure the smooth and secure opening and closing of the facility
  • Preparation and allocation of work rotas amongst the casual work force, ensuring correct staffing levels for events and private hires for both Bars and Front of House areas
  • Monitor financial budgets within the facility

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Working within a leisure / theatre / multi-purpose entertainment venue
  • Transferable management skills
  • Ability to motivate and get the best out of staff
  • Work under own initiative, without supervision, prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Flexible to working hours
