Randstad Engineering are currently looking for an operations technician for an impressive client of ours. They are an Energy from Waste business that specialises in converting non-recyclable waste into renewable energy. This is a fantastic opportunity to not only develop your own career, but also contribute positively to the environmental initiatives in the UK! The plant is split into 2 main sections, plastics processing & energy generation (power plant), this role sits on the energy generation side.

This is a great opportunity to further develop in the a shift team leader.

To be successful in this position, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a power generation or process plant
  • A solid understanding of engineering principles
  • A willingness to work towards SAP (senior authorised person) or previous experience working at this level.
  • A good understanding of environmental, health and safety within a process or power industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You may have previously worked as: operational support technician, plant operator, senior plant operator, shift team leader, operations team leader or similar.

Responsibilities:

  • The Operations Support Technician will provide support to the Operations team on site, planning, implementing, monitoring systems and processes through good practice, to maximise efficiency and ensure health and safety compliance.
  • You will lead, coordinate and report on the operational Preventative Planned Maintenance tasks to ensure completeness and feedback is provided to ensure continuous improvement in maintenance activity.
  • As the Senior Authorised Person (SAP), you will also manage and ensure compliancy with the ERF Safe Systems of Work, as well as working with the management team, striving for continual improvement in minimising Heath Safety and Environmental impacts.
