Senior Building Safety Manager

Goodman Masson are currently working with a London social housing organisation to recruit for an interim Senior Building Safety Manager.

Pay - £550 - £600 per day INSIDE IR35

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Expert Support: Offer technical advice and guidance on fire and building safety to colleagues across the organisation.
  • Ensure Compliance: Guarantee full compliance with all Building Safety and Fire Safety legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop Robust Systems: Establish and maintain effective processes and systems for quality compliance records and accessible data management.
  • Lead Programme Delivery: Oversee the delivery of fire safety works, ensuring quality and compliance at every stage.
  • Communication: Develop and support strategies for effective communication and engagement with residents on building safety matters.
  • Stay Ahead of Legislation: Respond to emerging Government safety advice and best practices, positioning the organisation as a leader in building safety.
  • Foster Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to maintain a "golden thread" of fire safety information throughout the building lifecycle.
  • Promote Safety Culture: Champion a positive safety culture within the organisation, proactively addressing issues and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Manage the Team: Lead and develop the Building Safety Team, ensuring they are equipped to deliver on all safety initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Legislative Expertise: Strong knowledge of current building safety legislation with experience in managing safety performance in complex organisations.
  • Proven Safety Leadership: A track record of influencing fire and building safety design, delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strategic Management Experience: Experience managing staff, contractors, and safety programs, with a background in construction contract administration.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft applications and relevant Housing Management systems.
  • Effective Communicator: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge, recommend, and implement solutions effectively.
