This permanent role is integral to ensuring the seamless and profitable transportation of goods throughout Europe.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing the export/import processes for road freight shipments

Planning and coordinating transport routes and daily schedules for the European fleet, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability

Arranging customer collections, packing services, and deliveries

Collaborating with customers and office staff to plan routes, schedule delivery times, and coordinate drivers and vehicles

Coordinating with customs for clearance and managing customs entry exceptions
-
Overseeing EU airfreight (e.g., DHL) and EU road courier shipments
-
Addressing and resolving client/supplier issues and complaints
-
Coordinating all aspects of shipping fine art and antiques, including:

Assessing client needs and liaising with overseas agents, private collectors, galleries, auction houses, artists, and transport companies

Guiding clients through the shipping process

Quoting and coordinating both domestic and international shipments
-
Arranging customer collections and specialist packing services
-
Preparing and processing all necessary documentation
-
Handling paperwork, including customs clearance and advising customers on required payments
-
Ensuring timely invoice production
-
Preparing operational reports and maintaining comprehensive records
-
Conducting cost analysis and reporting on jobs and European truck runs

Communicating with the sales and operations team throughout the day

Providing administrative assistance to the sales team as needed

Offering support across the business when required

Attending regular team meetings
Key Attributes:
- Proven track record and knowledge of domestic and European transport operations and planning
- Good knowledge of current EU transport legislation
- Strong geographical knowledge
- In-depth understanding of current EU customs procedures and paperwork requirements
- Experience dealing with high-end clients and goods
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
