Tool Maker

We are a well-established global manufacturing business located in Aldershot who are now recruiting for an experienced Tool Maker to report into the Tooling Manager as part of a team of 2. This is a stand alone role and as such we need an experience Tool Maker to be responsible for tool modifications across the business to support the wider manufacturing teams. You will be modifying and re machining. The role has the potential for you to make it your own and grow with the business. Working Mon to Fri with a 12pm Friday finish. We can offer a salary up to £42k depending on experience, with 25 days annual leave plus the bank holidays, free parking, pension scheme and life insurance.
Reporting into the Tooling Manager, you are required to be a self-motivated person who has the ability to work efficiently unsupervised and carry out duties in a safe and timely manner. You will be responsible for making or improving all types of Tooling to enable the production process within the manufacturing facility to be as efficient as possible. This may include Jigs, Fixtures, Clamps and Moulds to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of the customer.

To be considered for the role of Tool Maker your duties will involve but not limited to as listed below:

Assists the Tooling Manager in all aspects of in-house and External tool Manufacturing, Maintenance, Development and Testing activities to ensure the business objectives are met.
To maximise productivity and maintain the highest level of workmanship for all Tooling activities.
Provide Specialist technical advice and support on all aspects of tool Design, Manufacture and Estimating.
Support Production and Engineering with Tooling/Technical problems.
Support Production and Engineering to manage on-time availability of tools to ensure continuous production.
Ensuring Health & Safety is embedded into all processes in the Tool room.

The role would suit candidates who have previously worked in a similar role previously who are keen to join a well established and successful company who have continued to grow. You will have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, knowledge of programming workshop CNC machinery including lathe, flat bed grinder, milling machine and be able to work across a range of equipment. Any experience of plastics or rubber would be an advantage as would EDM/Grinding experience.
