We are on the lookout for a diligent Import Clerk with a strong background in customs procedures to join our team. Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage all aspects of customs clearance for imports across Sea, Air, and Road transport modes.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of customs clearance declarations.
- Create and maintain job files for Import LCL, FCL, and Air shipments using the Multi Freight System.
- Oversee bookings to guarantee timely shipments, coordinating with overseas agents and the internal sales department as needed.
- Keep customers informed about shipment etas and manage any necessary adjustments due to vessel delays.
- Secure release from carriers and follow up as needed.
- Arrange delivery bookings with customers, adapting to any changes required.
- Monitor deliveries to confirm timely container collection, communicate with hauliers, and provide customers with updates on any issues.
- Handle invoicing and payment collection.
- Offer quotes to international sister agents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an import or customs role within the freight forwarding industry.
- Familiarity with Import & Export regulations is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
