We are seeking an Employability Coordinator to join our client on a temporary basis. This role involves working to specific recruitment, job outcome, and sustainable job outcome targets. The successful candidate will recruit clients, assess their needs, and progress them through relevant pre-employment or skills programmes, providing support, advice, and guidance to help them secure and maintain employment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Recruit clients and assess their needs to progress through pre-employment or skills programmes.
- Provide necessary resources for clients to search for and secure employment, maintaining good links with Jobcentre Plus, local employers, and local employer representative groups.
- Manage access to web-based employment sites and appropriate paper-based resources.
- Proactively contact employers for jobs and Sector Work Based Academy Programmes.
- Produce regular e-shots and marketing sheets for Jobcentre Plus.
- Check websites including Gov.uk for job vacancies and update Jobs Board weekly.
- Ensure all Workforce Development (WFD) classrooms are safe, tidy, and display engaging posters and good news stories about successful learners moving into employment.
- Check learner ID is compliant for SIA and HABC registration and liaise with Head of Section to arrange resits.
- Assist with exam invigilation and promote employment initiatives including making presentations and attending meetings.
- Be responsible for weekly initial assessments of all referred clients and complete enrolments for individual courses.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in providing careers information, advice, and guidance to unemployed individuals and groups.
- Knowledge of occupational areas and progression routes into further/higher education, training, and employment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of learners and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, able to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Knowledge and experience of using IT appropriate to advice & guidance activities, including word-processing and email.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement in advice and guidance.
- Flexible and willing to work across campuses as required and to work outside usual working hours where necessary.
