This rewarding role involves providing support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) needs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a positive learning environment and assisting in the development and progress of children with ASD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with ASD, ensuring their individual needs are met and they are fully engaged in classroom activities.
- Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with the class teacher to implement and adapt lesson plans, catering to the diverse needs of students with ASD.
- Behavioural Support: Employ effective strategies to manage and address challenging behaviors, promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Communication: Foster open communication with parents, caregivers, and the school team to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Inclusive Practices: Work closely with the SENCO and other teaching staff to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports the overall well-being of students with ASD.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and record the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Resource Management: Assist in the preparation and organization of resources that support the learning and sensory needs of students with ASD.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with ASD in an educational setting.
- Understanding of ASD and familiarity with effective strategies for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
