Your new role
The Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily activities of the laboratory, which will involve regular testing, overseeing laboratory personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, managing laboratory resources, and maintaining the quality and accuracy of lab results.
- Perform regular testing of fuels / oils / waste, following applicable standards and laboratory practices.· Provide final oversight on all testing.· Interpret, record and circulate test results.· Sample management (sample taking, tracking, logging, storing and disposal).· Supervise and provide guidance to laboratory technicians.· Interpret standards in accordance with operating manuals.· Create and review laboratory SOPs.· Ensure the lab is compliant with all HSE requirements, regulations and legislation.· Conduct internal audits, QC checks, equipment maintenance and calibration.· Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments.· Responsible for upkeep and ordering of all consumables required for the laboratory.
Product Development / R&D - Lead product development and drive innovative solutions to complex chemical/lab challenges by interpreting and advancing R&D efforts.
What you'll need to succeed · HND or degree level Chemistry qualification· Experience of working within the fuel / oil industry or similar· Previous experience leading an Analytical, QC or Testing Laboratory· Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office· Previous experience in R&D
