Principal Project Manager

**The starting salary for this role is £59,868 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Project Manager to join our supportive and busy Major Projects Team.

You will be based at both our Woking Office and our Reigate office and we support a hybrid approach to work.

About the Role

Based in the Environment, Infrastructure, and Growth Directorate's Major Projects Team, this exciting role will be responsible for the delivery of complex, high-profile capital projects. Projects will include work in Surrey's major town centres, road corridor or junction improvements, solar farms and the installation of electric vehicle chargepoints to name just a few. Reporting directly to the Major Projects Team Leader, this role is essential for achieving our service goals and aligning with the council's vision.

We're seeking a forward-thinking, decisive individual with a proven track record and a passion for delivering major infrastructure projects efficiently and effectively.

Shortlisting Criteria

  3. Provide an example of a time when you had to negotiate and collaborate with both internal and external partners to achieve a project goal?

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your CV and answers to the above questions will clearly evidence the following specific skills:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in infrastructure/engineering with professional institution membership.
  • Extensive senior-level experience in infrastructure/engineering with political sensitivity and awareness.
  • Proven ability to deliver technically complex programmes of work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation being able to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners with
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities and a strong set of leadership skills, including staff development.
  • Risk assessment and management skills in complex environments.
