Reception class teacher
Job Description:
SMART Education are looking for an experienced class teacher to support a reception class within an Ofsted rated ‘good' school in Castle Bromwich.
Candidates must have prior experience supporting KS1 students. The school prefers candidates who have previously worked with younger children, particularly early years, ensuring that the new team member can confidently meet the pupil's needs and provide enriching experiences tailored to their age group and abilities.
This position is the commences from the 9th September 2024, on a full time basis.

Duties:
- implement agreed school policies and guidelines;
- support initiatives decided by the Headteacher and staff;
- plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through differentiation of tasks;
- be able to set clear targets, based on prior attainment, for pupils' learning;
- provide a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils;
- keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning;
- report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils;
- maintain good order and discipline amongst pupils, in accordance with the school's behaviour policy;
- take part in and contribute to meetings that relate to teaching/curriculum; cooperate with and, where appropriate, advise the head teacher and other colleagues in the review, development and management of a subject in the school;
- communicate and co-operate with specialists from outside agencies;
- plan for, organise and direct the work of support staff within the classroom;

Requirements:
- Relevant Qualifications I.E PGCE and QTS
- Proven experience as a class teacher in primary schools
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff, colleagues, pupils and parents
- A passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey
- Either possessing and enhanced DBS check on the update service or willing to obtain one.
- Understanding of and experience with safeguarding practises as a teacher
Salary: £35000 - £40000 per annum
Hours: Monday and Friday 08:15 – 15:30
Duration: On going from September 9th
