Interim Finance Assistant | Rapid Growth SaaS Scale-Up | Temp-to-perm
The client
Harmonic are delighted to working exclusively with a rapid growth, VC Backed SaaS business who are disrupting their market. Our client is looking for a part-qualified junior finance professional to start immediately (within the next 2 weeks) and support their finance team as they come into a period of high workload and some longer periods of leave. Our client has raised in excess of £30m and is now focused on continued revenue growth and longer term international expansion into the US.
Backed by elite Venture Capital funds, our client's online platform is applicable across multiple industries and offers a wide range of tools and services. They are already a market leader in their niche with a huge market potential for expansion. Located in a fashionable area in Northeast London and boasting a non-corporate working environment, they are looking for someone who is keen to integrate themselves into the team. This position is initially a contract but if the fit is right their intention would be to transition to a permanent role thereafter.
The Role
Working alongside an experienced Senior Finance Assistant, with exposure the Management Accountant and Financial Controller, this role will be divided into two key areas. The first being covering a longer period of leave for one of the finance team members and taking lead on the management of them and their clients payments using Microsoft Excel to ensure payments are made in a timely manner. The second area of focus, once the team member returns, will be to support the team as they look to bring the finance function fully inhouse. This will require a candidate with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a willingness to role up their sleeves and be hands on with finance.
Responsibilities
- Management of the Excel spreadsheet for payments.
- Posting journals.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Support as finance is fully brought in house.
- Elements of AP & AR.
- Assist with management accounts when needed.
- Management of customers and vendors.
- Preparing Payment runs.
Essential skills
- Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- 1-4 years' experience in a similar role.
- Able to hit the ground running.
- Ability to partner with other members of the finance team and across the business.
- Self-starter and astute problem solver.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to effectively manage upwards.
- Immediately available or on short notice.
Bonus Experience
- Experience using Xero
- Experience within a SaaS or Tech business would be a bonus.
Day Rate: £175-£225/day
Location: Remote
Start date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6 Months (potential permanent thereafter)
