We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to start a career in accountancy to join our rural client accounting team as a Junior Client Accounts Assistant. This role will be based at our Shrewsbury office, and the postholder will help the team manage the accounts for our rural client portfolio. Prior experience in the property sector is not essential, however, a keen learner with a can-do attitude will go far!

Main tasks:

  • Key elements of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with the weekly BACS payment process
  • Inputting the supplier invoices onto the appropriate software
  • Verifying and checking the invoice coding
  • Approving and uploading new suppliers onto the software
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Dealing with supplier and internal client queries
  • Requesting funds from the client to pay the invoices
  • Paying off paid invoices on the TRAMPS software
  • Carrying out all administrative and ad hoc duties in connection with the role
  • Ensuring systems are updated on a timely and accurate basis to enable other departments within the organisation to work effectively
  • Supporting other members of the client accounting team and providing cover in periods of absence of other team members

What will it take to be successful?

Ideally you will have excellent organisational and administrative skills and the ability to think logically. You will have the ability to work both supervised and unsupervised, being able to make decisions effectively and efficiently. You will have strong communication skills, a professional approach and great time management skills. It is crucial to have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, be enthusiastic and pro-active with strong numeral and written analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills, good commercial awareness and teamwork are extremely important. It is also essential you are fully computer literate with a thorough understanding of MS Office programmes, particularly Excel.
