Finance Business Partner

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bristol Sport Group as Finance Business Partner.

Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will own the Group's consolidated financial reporting and planning processes, providing in depth financial analysis, management information and commercial support as required. The role will also lead a process improvement project to enhance financial processes, systems and reporting in the Ashton Gate division.

Reporting to the Group CFO, key responsibilities will include:

  • Interface with the finance teams of the Group's sports clubs (Bristol Bears, Bristol City, Bristol Flyers and Bristol Sport) to ensure that monthly reporting is delivered on a timely basis supported by clear commentary and performance metrics
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial results for the CFO including cash flow, P&L and balance sheet, continually developing monthly management reporting and creating dashboards to ensure the key data remains relevant, insightful and adds value
  • Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of the consolidated financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring that the consolidated view correctly eliminates intercompany positions and that the intercompany recharge model is optimised and fit for purpose
  • Drive continuous improvement and Business Process Improvement ("BPI") initiatives throughout Finance and the wider organisation
  • Identify opportunities to further enhance the Group's Finance System 'XLedger', acting as key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Build groupwide BI/MI dashboards incorporating multiple data sources to enable timely data driven decision making and develop robust KPIs
  • Work closely with the Ashton Gate operational and IT teams to develop and lead a robust framework to report, forecast and manage IT (opex and capex) spend
  • Prepare the Group's VAT returns and ensure that requirements are completed in good time

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold an accounting qualification (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) with 2-3 years PQE
