This role covers the full build process-from small cable assemblies to full system integration-within a mix of job, batch, and flow production environments.
You'll be responsible for assembling and testing a range of electro-mechanical components, ensuring all builds meet engineering specifications, performance standards, and safety regulations. A key part of the role includes fault-finding at the component level, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting continuous improvement alongside the engineering and production teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assembling electro-mechanical systems from engineering drawings and specifications
- Performing functional tests and quality checks on devices
- Diagnosing and resolving faults using tools such as FlashPro, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
- Maintaining accurate records of test results and updating documentation when changes occur
- Working closely with engineers to optimise production processes and resolve technical issues
This role is ideal for a technician or production engineer with solid experience in electro-mechanical assembly and testing. You'll need to be confident with both hardware and software tools, have strong attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, precision-focused environment.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience in soldering (including SMT to 0201), wiring, and cable/harness assembly
- Familiarity with electronic and mechanical drawings and PCB design software
- Working knowledge of Python, C#, and basic data protocols (Hex/Decimal/Binary)
- Strong fault-finding skills and ability to use standard diagnostic equipment
- Experience with cleanroom or opto-mechanical assembly is a bonus
- A proactive, flexible mindset with strong communication and documentation skills
