Teaching Assistant required to support on a 1-2-1 and small group basis at a fantastic SEMH school. Are you a Teaching Assistant or Classroom Assistant who has experience working with SEMH needs or Special educational Needs? Are you looking for a new challenge where you can work alongside a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants to make a difference? This busy SEMH school in South Birmingham is looking to add an experienced Teaching Assistant to the team to support on a 1-2-1 and small group basis within Key Stages 3 & 4. This school has a wonderful team who are committed to giving every child the education that they deserve.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be providing social and academic support for students with EHCP's, who require additional assistance. You will be responsible for keeping children on track and assisting the teacher in managing behaviours. The SENCO and pastoral lead work closely with Teaching Assistants to ensure that the needs of students are met. This role requires a Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with SEMH needs, and a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Job Role:

  • Supporting on a 1-2-1 basis within small classes of KS3/4 children with EHCP's
  • Having a good understanding of a range of additional needs
  • Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant
  • Taking part in whole school activities and making school fun, engaging and beneficial for pupils
  • Breaking down barriers to communication and effectively managing behaviours
